When you would use it
Moments it is for
The school run.

What it does
Inside Location View
Latest location on a map
See where their phone is now, updating as they move while you watch — and when it last checked in.
Saved-place alerts
Mark a place once and choose arrival alerts, departure alerts, or both.
Where they’ve been
Review the day’s journeys and times, from school to home and back.
Check their latest location from your phone
Open Location View to see your child’s Android phone on a map — updating as they move while you watch.
Live while you watch — As they move, the map keeps up; when they are still or offline, you see the last-known position.
Update time — Every position shows when the phone last checked in, so you know how fresh it is.
Directions — One tap opens directions to where they are, for the days you go to meet them.
Just checked in
Under their name, the time this position arrived.
One tap from here
Directions open to where they are now.
Mark the places that matter
Home, school, a class, a grandparent’s. FlashDroid tells you when they arrive and when they leave.
Arrive, leave, or both — Choose which alerts you want, place by place.
Name it, size it — Give each place your family’s name and set how big the zone is.
Every visit is saved — Each arrival and departure is recorded, whether or not you asked for an alert.
Today
Switched on for School
This place alerts on arrival, not on leaving.
See where their phone has been
The day’s journeys on a map — where they went, and when.
Journeys — Each trip drawn on the map, with how long it took.
Named ends — School to home reads as school to home, not two sets of coordinates.
Kept 30 days — Far enough back to answer a question, then deleted automatically.
Today
Home → School → Park
The day drawn in the order it happened.
Named, not coordinates
Places you have saved come back by name.
Why it helps
What Location View is really for
- Know they arrivedGet an alert when they reach school or home, so you can stop watching the clock.
- Easier pickupCheck the latest phone location when you are arranging where to meet.
- Fewer “where are you?” textsA glance at the map answers the everyday question without interrupting their afternoon.
Plainly
Clear, and agreed
So you can tell your child exactly what this is.
- You choose when to lookThe map is there when you open it. FlashDroid Kid shares location so your alerts and history work — but you are not watching a live feed all day.
- Last-known when the phone is offlineIf the phone is off or has no signal, you see the last position and when it checked in — not a guess.
- Your places stay yoursThe places you save live in your parent app — FlashDroid Kid does not show them to your child.

Questions
Location View — the questions parents ask
Does my child know FlashDroid is there?+
Yes. FlashDroid is visible on their phone under its own name and consent is recorded at pairing — it isn’t a hidden or secret tool.
How does FlashDroid show my child’s location?+
FlashDroid Kid shares location updates from the child’s Android phone with your parent app. The map shows the latest position and when it last checked in, and while you watch a moving child it updates as they go.
Can I get school arrival and departure alerts?+
Yes. Save the school as a place and choose arrival alerts, departure alerts, or both. Alerts fire when the phone enters or leaves the saved area.
What if my child’s phone is offline or switched off?+
A new location can’t reach your app while the phone is off or has no connection. You’ll see the last-known location and when it checked in.
How accurate is the location?+
It depends on the phone, its location settings, and the surroundings — tall buildings and indoor places reduce accuracy. Check the update time before you rely on the position shown.
How often does the location update?+
It varies with the phone’s connection, permissions, and battery settings. Updates are most frequent while your child is moving and you’re watching the map; the map always shows when the latest update arrived.
Why can an arrival alert be delayed?+
An alert needs a location update to reach FlashDroid. A weak connection, reduced accuracy, or battery restrictions can delay that update.
Does Location View use battery and mobile data?+
Yes. Location updates use some battery and data. The amount varies with usage, signal strength, and device settings.
How long is location history kept?+
Location history and place visits are kept for 30 days, then deleted automatically.
Does my child have to approve every location check?+
No. Agreement happens once, at pairing, and it’s recorded. After that, an authorised parent can check location without a new prompt each time.
Can my child see the places I’ve saved?+
No. The places you save live in your parent app; FlashDroid Kid does not list them.
Can two parents use Location View?+
Yes. Each parent has their own account in the same family, so you don’t share one login. Invite another parent from your family settings.
Does this work on iPhone?+
Not yet. FlashDroid’s parent app and child app are both Android only today.
