What does the FlashDroid parental-control app do?+

FlashDroid helps you manage your child’s Android phone from your own. It covers daily screen-time limits and bedtime, app limits, the web filter, location with safe-place alerts, and Family Safety View for a live look at the camera, screen or nearby sound when you are concerned.

Does FlashDroid work on Android phones?+

Yes. Both apps are Android today: the parent app from Google Play and FlashDroid Kid installed directly from this website with a small setup app. iPhone is planned.

Can I limit individual apps on my child’s phone?+

Yes. Each app can be allowed, given its own daily limit, or blocked, and you can mark the apps that must always stay open, such as calls and homework apps.

Can FlashDroid help block harmful websites?+

Yes. Turn on whole categories such as adult content, gambling and violence to block them, add sites by name, and see what was blocked. You are told if the filter is switched off or bypassed with a VPN.

Can I receive alerts when my child reaches school or home?+

Yes. Mark a place once and FlashDroid sends an alert when your child arrives or leaves. The map also shows the latest position and the last 30 days of journeys.

What is Family Safety View?+

The set of tools for moments when a message goes unanswered: Live Camera View, Live Screen View, Nearby Sound, Camera Snapshot and Screen Snapshot, and scheduled safety checks. Live tools run only while you have them open and keep nothing.

Can parents use the camera, screen and nearby sound tools?+

Yes, from the parent app, once the child’s phone has been paired and the permissions granted. The child’s phone shows a notice the whole time a live view is open, and Android shows its own camera and microphone indicators.

Who agrees to the connection, and when?+

During pairing, on your child’s own phone, the parent setting it up confirms they are the guardian and accepts the connection. After that the enabled tools do not ask again, but FlashDroid Kid stays visible and shows a notice during live views.

Does FlashDroid remain visible on the child’s phone?+

Yes, always. FlashDroid Kid sits in the app list under its own name, its home screen says who supervises the phone, and removing it asks for the parent PIN.

Why is FlashDroid Kid downloaded from the website?+

Google Play does not list child-protection apps of this kind, so FlashDroid Kid installs directly. A small setup app downloads and installs it, and the step-by-step page walks you through the one-time “allow from this source” step.

Can I add more than one child?+

Yes. Add each child to your family; every child has their own limits, bedtime, places and settings.

How much battery and mobile data does FlashDroid use?+

In normal use, little: FlashDroid Kid checks in at intervals and uses the phone’s own location services. Live views use data while they are open, which is why they end when you close them.

What happens when the child phone is offline?+

Rules already on the phone keep working. The map shows when the phone last checked in, alerts arrive once it is back online, and live views wait until it is reachable.

How long are camera photos and screenshots stored?+

30 days, then they are deleted automatically. Location history is kept for 30 days and the notification log for 60 days. You can delete any of this data sooner, and request deletion of your family’s data at any time.

Is there a free trial or a price?+

Payments are not switched on yet. While they are off, FlashDroid is free to install and pair. Pricing will be announced before anyone is charged.
