When you would use it
Moments it is for
A game is taking more time.
Check how long it is really getting before you decide on a limit.
An unfamiliar app appears.
An app you have never heard of shows up. You hear about it the day it arrives, then talk about what it is for.
You want fairer rules.
Compare app time with schoolwork and interests before you set anything.
What it does
Inside App Activity
Every app, ranked
The apps they use most, ordered by time spent, over a day, week or month.
Per-app time
How long in each app, today and over the week.
New apps
Know the day a new app is installed.
See time spent in each app
An app-by-app breakdown for the period you choose, so you can see where the time actually went.
Ranked by time — The one at the top is usually the conversation worth having.
Day, week or month — One afternoon means little; a pattern over weeks means something.
No guessing — A number instead of a disagreement about how long it has been.

Notice newly installed apps
A new app on their phone is worth knowing about the day it appears.
Told, not blocked — You find out and decide — installing is not stopped by surprise.
The name, plainly — You know what it is without having to go looking.
Then it is a choice — Leave it, limit it, or block it, if you want to.
Told, not blocked
The install goes ahead. You hear about it, then decide.

Time, not contents
This counts how long apps are open. It never goes inside them.
App and duration — That is the whole of what is recorded.
Never their typing — FlashDroid has no keyboard logging, anywhere.
Enough to talk about — Four hours in one app is a conversation. What they said in it is theirs.
Most Used Apps
Which app it was
The name on the phone, nothing behind it.
And how long it was open
That pair is the whole record — there is no third field.
Never what was inside
Not messages, not posts, not searches.
Why it helps
What App Activity is really for
- See where the time goesA clear picture of the apps behind the hours, so any limit you set is fair — not a guess.
- Talk about specifics“Three hours in one game” is a better conversation than “too much screen time”.
- Nothing slips byKnow when a new app appears, so you can ask about it early.
- Contents stay privateYou see which apps and for how long — never what is typed or read inside them.
Plainly
What App Activity doesn’t do
The line is worth drawing, because this is where people assume the worst.
- It doesn’t look inside appsFlashDroid records which app was open and for how long. Not messages, not posts, not searches.
- It doesn’t block anythingThis is the picture. App Blocker is the tool that acts on it.
- It counts the phone, not the personIf they share a device with a sibling, the time is the phone’s, not one child’s.

Questions
App Activity — the questions parents ask
Does my child know FlashDroid is there?+
Yes. FlashDroid is visible on their phone under its own name and consent is recorded at pairing — it isn’t a hidden or secret tool.
Does this read what’s inside the apps?+
No. It shows which apps were used and for how long, not their contents.
Will I know when they install a new app?+
Yes. A new app on their phone raises an alert on yours the day it appears, with the app’s name. Installing is not blocked; you find out and decide.
Can I set a limit straight from the list?+
Yes. Each app in the list can be left alone, given a daily limit, or blocked, using the same controls as App Blocker.
What if two children share one phone?+
The time belongs to the phone, not to one child. FlashDroid cannot tell who was holding it, so on a shared phone treat the numbers as the household’s.
Does this work on iPhone?+
Not yet. FlashDroid is Android only today, both the parent app and the child app.
Which apps do children spend the most time on?+
Video and short-video apps, games and messaging usually lead the list, and the order shifts with age. App Activity shows your child’s own list rather than an average, which is the one worth talking about.
