App Limits for Kids
Limit games and distracting apps without blocking everything.
Choose what happens app by app: allow it, set a daily limit, or block it. Keep important apps available, and change the rules from your phone when family routines change.

- Always Allowed

Why it matters
Some apps can stay. Some need limits. Some can wait.
A learning app, a family-messaging app and a game do not need the same rule. FlashDroid lets you decide what happens per app, so the phone can stay useful even when one app needs to stop.
Allow
Leave useful and appropriate apps alone.
Limit
Give a distracting app a clear daily cap.
Block
Set an app the family does not want used to blocked.
Always allowed
Keep important apps available through other limits.
One rule per app
Treat each app differently.
FlashDroid lets you decide what happens per app instead of applying one blunt restriction to the whole phone.
One phone. Different apps. Different rules.
- Learning and school-communication apps → allow.
- A favourite game that takes over → limit.
- An app the family does not want used → block.
App Limits
Never blocked. Doesn’t use up screen time.
Can’t open it.
Always allow
The school app and the call home. No rule reaches them.
Limit
An hour and a half of the game, and it stops there.
Block
It simply does not open. Nothing else changes.
Daily app limits
Give distracting apps a clear daily limit.
If a game or social app is allowed but taking too much of the day, set a daily app limit instead of blocking it completely.
You do not have to choose between unlimited and completely blocked.
- The child can still use the app, within a predictable rule.
- No need to negotiate every session.
- One app can be limited without reducing access to the whole phone.
When the 30m is gone, the app closes for the day — the rest of the phone carries on.
Full block
Block an app when the answer is no.
For apps that should not be used on the child’s phone, set the app to Block. FlashDroid syncs that rule to the child device and applies the restriction there.
When the family rule is no, make the rule clear on the phone too.
- Set an age-inappropriate app, or one the family has decided against, to blocked.
- The rule syncs to the child device — it is a synced rule, not a magical instant kill.
- No parental-control system is impossible to bypass; FlashDroid applies the configured rule.

Essential apps
Keep important apps always available.
Some apps should keep working even when other limits are active. Mark important apps as always allowed so communication or safety tools remain available.
A game can stop without cutting off the apps your child may need.
- Phone and calling stay available.
- Mark family communication, maps or a school app to stay on if you choose.
- You choose which apps are always allowed — nothing is assumed for you.
Always on, automatically
- Phone
- Contacts
- Keyboard
A used-up day still makes calls and still has a keyboard.
Always allow — your choice
Never blocked. Doesn’t use up screen time.
Change from your phone
Change the rule when the day changes.
Change an app rule from the parent phone. FlashDroid syncs the new rule to the child’s device so the updated setting can be applied.
You should not need the child’s phone in your hand every time a rule changes.
- Extra game time on a weekend; block a distraction during exams.
- Adjust a daily limit, or allow an app again after a rule changes.
- Changes take effect after the rule reaches the child phone.

With screen time
Control the app and the whole day separately.
A child can have an overall daily screen-time allowance while individual games or apps have their own limits — more control than one number for the entire phone.
One daily limit for the phone. Different rules for the apps inside it.
- GAGame30m
- VIVideo appBlock
- PHPhoneAlways allow
The day is one limit. Each app can have its own inside it — and an always-allowed app spends none of it.
Beyond apps
App rules solve one problem. FlashDroid helps with the whole phone.
FlashDroid also helps parents set overall screen-time limits, protect web access, see location and use advanced safety tools when they need more context.

FAQ
Questions about app limits, answered.
Can I limit one game without limiting the whole phone?
Yes. FlashDroid supports per-app limits, so a game can have its own daily rule while other apps remain available.
Can I completely block an app?
Yes. You can set an app to Block, and FlashDroid applies that rule on the child device after it syncs.
Can I leave an app unrestricted?
Yes. Apps can be set to Allow.
Can important apps keep working?
Yes. You can mark selected apps as always allowed, and calling stays available.
Does blocking an app happen instantly?
It is a synced rule, not an instant kill. You change the rule and it is sent to the child device to be applied.
Can I change an app limit from my phone?
Yes. Change the rule from the parent app and it syncs to the child phone.
Can I set both overall screen time and per-app limits?
Yes. Overall screen-time controls and individual app rules can be used together.
Can my child bypass the app blocker?
No parental-control system is impossible to bypass. FlashDroid applies the configured rule on the child device.
Does FlashDroid work on iPhone?
No. The current parent and child apps are Android only.
Control the distracting apps without taking away the whole phone.
Allow what is fine, limit what takes over, block what should wait — and keep the important apps available, all from your phone.
