Web Protection for Kids
Help block adult and harmful websites on your child’s Android phone.
Choose the types of websites you want to block. FlashDroid filters web access on the child’s phone, including supported private-browsing sessions, and tells you if the protection is switched off or another VPN is added.

Why it matters
You cannot review every link. You can still set the boundaries.
A link in a search result, message or advert can lead somewhere you would rather your child did not go. FlashDroid applies your web rules automatically, so protection does not depend on a parent standing beside the phone.
Automatic
Web rules apply on the phone, not only when you are watching.
You choose the level
Pick the categories that do not belong on your child’s phone.
Private windows too
Supported private-browsing sessions stay covered by the same rules.
You stay informed
Know if the filter is switched off or another VPN is added.
Website categories
Block categories instead of building a list one site at a time.
Choose the types of websites that do not belong on your child’s phone. FlashDroid applies those rules automatically to web requests on the device.
Choose the rule once. You do not need to know every website by name.
- Categories such as adult content, gambling, dating, drugs, violence and hate speech.
- The available categories can update from the product — you pick which ones to block.
- It helps block known categories; no web filter can honestly promise to catch every page.
Browser protection
Private browsing should not mean unprotected browsing.
FlashDroid filters web access on the child’s phone rather than relying on a normal browser tab. Supported private-browsing windows stay covered by the same web-filter rules.
- Protection is applied on the device, across supported browsers.
- A private or incognito window does not switch the web rule off.
- You do not need to configure each browser or tab separately.
Default browser
Another browser
Private tab
The phone asks for the site’s address and gets nowhere to go, so the page never starts loading — in any browser.
Protection alerts
Know if the web protection is switched off.
If the filter is turned off or another VPN is added, FlashDroid can surface that change to you instead of leaving the family assuming protection is still active.
Protection matters only if you know when it changes.
- A change to the filter state is worth knowing about.
- Adding another VPN can affect filtering — you are told when one is added.
- It is an honest signal that something changed, not a promise that bypass is impossible.
Sites aren’t being filtered.
Honest limits
Website protection is not the same as reading inside apps.
FlashDroid helps filter website access. It does not inspect the videos, messages, posts or feeds inside apps such as YouTube, Instagram or messaging services.
We would rather explain the limit clearly than pretend one filter can see everything.
- Website filter: controls access to websites and domains.
- App limits and blocking: control whether an app can be used at all.
- Content inside an app is not classified by the website filter.
sees itnot read
The filter decides which sites a phone may reach. What plays inside an app is not classified by it — app limits decide whether that app opens at all.
Beyond the web
A safer web is only one part of a safer phone.
FlashDroid also helps parents set screen-time limits, limit or block distracting apps, see location and use advanced safety tools when they are concerned.

FAQ
Questions about blocking websites, answered.
Can FlashDroid block adult websites on Android?
Yes. FlashDroid can apply category-based website filtering on the child’s Android phone to help block adult and other selected website categories.
Does it work in private or incognito browsing?
The web-filter rules are designed to keep applying in supported browser private windows. FlashDroid does not read or record private browsing — it applies the same category rules to the traffic.
Does FlashDroid block content inside YouTube, Instagram or TikTok?
No. The web filter controls website and domain access. It does not inspect individual videos, posts, messages or feeds inside other apps.
Can I choose what types of websites are blocked?
Yes. You choose which supported website categories to block in the FlashDroid controls.
Will I know if the filter is switched off?
Yes. FlashDroid can surface it to you when the filter is switched off, or when another VPN is added that could affect filtering.
Does FlashDroid block every inappropriate website?
No web filter can honestly promise that. FlashDroid helps block supported categories of websites and is one layer of family safety.
Can I block an app as well as a website?
Yes. App controls are a separate FlashDroid feature — you can allow, limit or block supported apps.
Is the website filter secret?
No. FlashDroid is a parental-control product installed on the child’s phone as part of family setup. It is not hidden or stealth software.
Does FlashDroid work on iPhone?
No. FlashDroid’s current parent and child apps are Android only.
Set the web rules once, and let FlashDroid apply them.
Choose the categories that do not belong on your child’s phone, keep them applied across the browser, and know when the protection changes.
