Family Safety View

Live Screen

See what’s on your child’s Android screen in real time, mirrored to your parent app when you ask. Open the view when you need it and end it when you’re done — the live screen streams while you watch and is never recorded.

Their screen

Live now

When you would use it

Moments it is for

  • “What are you watching?”

Asked at the wrong moment, it gets a shrug. A look at the screen gives you something specific to talk about.

  • Homework, or a game on mute?

See what’s on the screen without anyone having to get up from the sofa.

  • An app you don’t recognise.

See it in use before you decide what to do about it.

What’s on the screen, as it happens

Whatever they’re looking at, mirrored to your phone in real time.

  • Live, not delayed — What you see is what’s on their screen now.

  • What’s visible, you see — Text on the screen can appear in the view too, including a message being read or typed.

  • One tap to close — It ends on both phones at once.

Their screen

Your view

A mirror does not filter: whatever is on the screen is in the view, including a message being read.

Something to talk about, not to guess at

Use the view to support a conversation, not to replace one.

  • No interrogation — You don’t have to quiz them about their afternoon.

  • Context, not suspicion — A screen view is one moment, not the whole story of their day.

  • Then leave them to it — End the view when you’ve seen what you needed to.

On their phone, the whole time

The screen-sharing status is Android’s own, not ours. The notice below it is ours, and it is deliberately calm — it never announces a particular session.

Why it helps

What Live Screen is really for

  • Context in the momentWhen an app worries you, seeing the screen gives you something real to go on instead of guessing.
  • A better conversationKnowing what they’re actually looking at gives you something specific to talk about, not a vague “get off your phone”.
  • Only when you askThe screen mirrors on request — it isn’t a feed quietly running in the background.

Plainly

What Live Screen doesn’t do

So you can tell your child exactly what this is.

  • It isn’t always onThe mirror starts when you open it and stops when you close it.
  • It isn’t recordedThe screen streams while you watch. Nothing is saved to review afterwards.
  • No keyboard log or chat historyFlashDroid keeps no keyboard log and no full message history. Text that’s visible on the screen — including a message being typed — can still appear in the live view.
  • Some screens stay blankApps that protect their screens can appear blank, and device state or connection can limit the view.

Questions

Live Screen — the questions parents ask

Does my child know FlashDroid is there?+

Yes. FlashDroid is visible on their phone under its own name and consent is recorded at pairing — it isn’t a hidden or secret tool.

Is the screen mirror always on?+

No — it starts only when you request it, and ends when you close it.

Can I see messages or typed text?+

Text that’s visible on the screen can appear in the live view, including a message being read or typed. That’s different from a keyboard log or a full chat history — FlashDroid keeps neither.

Why is part of the screen blank?+

Some Android apps protect their screens from sharing, so they can appear blank. Device state and connection can affect the view too.

Does this let me control the phone?+

No. Live Screen shows you the screen; you can’t tap, type or operate their phone from your app.

Is the screen view recorded?+

No. Live Screen is streamed while you watch, with nothing saved to review afterwards.

Does this work on iPhone?+

Not yet. FlashDroid is Android only today, both the parent app and the child app.

Set up FlashDroid today.

Download the parent app, pair your child’s phone and choose the protections your family needs.
