Photos & Screenshots

Request a single photo from your child’s front or rear camera, or a screenshot of their Android screen — right away, or on a schedule you set. Captures are saved in your parent app and deleted automatically after 30 days.

30 days

When you would use it

Moments it is for

  • You can’t watch right now.

In a meeting, on the train. Ask for a photo and it waits for you until you’re free.

  • A picture says it faster.

One screenshot of what’s on the screen can answer the question without a live session.

  • A check at a set time.

Schedule a photo or screenshot for a moment that matters — the walk home, the end of study time.

What it does

Inside Photos & Screenshots

  • Photo or screenshot

A front- or rear-camera photo, or a picture of the screen.

  • Now or scheduled

Request one immediately, or set a time in advance.

  • Kept 30 days

Saved in your parent app, then deleted automatically.

Ask for a snapshot now, or schedule one

A photo from either camera, or a picture of the screen — the moment you need it, or at a time you set.

  • Photo or screen — Front camera, rear camera, or what’s on the screen.

  • Now or scheduled — Take one immediately, or set times for the app to take it for you.

  • It waits for you — You don’t have to be watching when a capture arrives.

Take a screenshot?asked every time

Captures whatever is on your child’s screen now. Nothing is shown to your child. If the screen is off, it can’t be taken.

Take screenshot

You can close this. If it arrives, you’ll find it in Snapshots.

Every capture, in one place

Your photos and screenshots land together, each with the time it was taken.

  • Photos and screenshots — Camera photos and screen captures, side by side.

  • With their capture time — Each one shows when it was actually taken, so you’re not guessing.

  • Private to your parent app — Captures stay in your FlashDroid app and nowhere else.

You’re all caught up. Captures older than 30 days are deleted automatically.

Kept 30 days, then gone

Long enough to look back at, not long enough to become an archive.

  • Thirty days — Captures are deleted automatically after that.

  • Yours to remove — You can clear anything you no longer want, sooner than that.

  • Not a permanent record — A snapshot is a check-in, not a growing archive of their phone.

Why it helps

What Photos & Screenshots is really for

  • One and doneAsk for a single photo or screenshot when you need it — not a stream you have to sit and watch.
  • Now or on a scheduleTake a snapshot the moment you need one, or set a time for the app to take it for you.
  • Private to your parent appCaptures are kept in your FlashDroid app and deleted automatically after 30 days.

Plainly

What Photos & Screenshots doesn’t do

Worth saying, because a capture feels bigger than a limit does.

  • It captures on request or on your scheduleA snapshot happens because you asked for one, or because you set a time for it — never on its own.
  • It shows one momentA capture is a new photo or screenshot, not access to the photos already on the phone. A protected screen may come back blank, and a scheduled capture can be delayed if the phone can’t complete it.
  • Kept 30 days, then deletedCaptures clear themselves automatically. This is not a permanent record.

Questions

Photos & Screenshots — the questions parents ask

Does my child know FlashDroid is there?+

Yes. FlashDroid is visible on their phone under its own name and consent is recorded at pairing — it isn’t a hidden or secret tool.

Can I schedule photos and screenshots?+

Yes. You can request a capture right away, or set a time for FlashDroid to take one — a front- or rear-camera photo, or a screenshot of the screen.

Can I browse all the photos already on the phone?+

No. This requests a new photo or screenshot at the moment you ask or schedule it. It isn’t access to the phone’s existing photo library.

Where do the captures go, and how long are they kept?+

They’re saved in your parent app and deleted automatically after 30 days. You can delete any of them sooner from the gallery.

What if the phone is offline at the scheduled time?+

A scheduled capture needs the phone connected and able to complete it. If it can’t, the capture may be delayed or missed — check the capture time and status on each image rather than assuming it shows the present moment.

Does this work on iPhone?+

Not yet. FlashDroid is Android only today, both the parent app and the child app.

Why would I need a photo from my child’s phone?+

For the moments you can’t watch live: a meeting, a train, a night shift. A single photo or screenshot waits for you in your parent app, and clears itself after 30 days.
